What lies ahead...

About to set off for my last day of work for the week, woohoo!
After work tonight I'm picking Mitchell up from HMAS Penguin cos he's course has finished.
Then he has a few days leave here in Sydney, before he heads back to Darwin. Tomorrow we're going to do the Shiprock (Cronulla) dive, provided the weather holds out (ie: no lightning)
Friday (ANZAC day) we'll be going to Dawn Service at SME and then into the city to drink it up.
I'm dreading this weekend, he leaves on Sunday and at this stage we're unsure when we'll see each other again :o(

Extra dosh

I'm thinking of getting a second job. Just a cash-in-hand-on-the-side sorta weekend job, maybe waitressing or something, where i don't have to commit to much (ie: don't have to put in leave if i want the weekend off to go to Darwin etc) and don't have to be taxed half my pay for having 2 jobs!

I'll start looking in a week or so, after Mitchell flies back to Darwin.

I'm trying to organise a girls long weekend for late 2008 for me and my girlfriends. We've attempted this before but nothing ever come of it due to money + everyone wanting to change dates, activities etc and no one wanting to organise it.
Well, i've got enough spare time and lonely motivation to do this (read: Mitchell not being present)

I've never so much as BEEN on girls trip, nevermind organised one so all i need now is some awesome idea's... so feel free to comment with your own ideas!

I whitened my teeth yesterday which made me notice i have white marks on some of my teeth. I looked this up on the net and apparently it's a sign of fluorosis! which makes sense for me as I pretty much only drink water. Apart from the occasional wine or juice (though I usually even dilute juice with water!)

As dumb as this sounds, I didn't even know you could drink too much water (well besides from the whole Anna Wood ecstacy thing)

So apparently doing the healthy thing for my body has began to ruin my teeth ...once i get private health insurance i'll ask my dentist about it, see if they think it's fluorosis and look into treatments.

Once upon a time, in a land faraway. A beautiful, independent, self assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.

The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: "Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me. Once kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young prince that I am. And then, my sweet, we can marry and set up housekeeping in your castle, with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children and forever feel grateful and happy doing so."

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on lightly sauteed frog legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled and thought to herself: "I don't fuckin think so!"

I am now convinced my cat is a dog...

On the weekend i took him outside for a walk on a leash
...now he meows at the door for a walk.

(This is just one of his many dog-like traits)

Humorous Pictures

So things are going good lately...

-An unexpected (but much appreciated) visit from Mitchell for our anniversary
-The Kitty monster is all better, no more cat flu or lethargy. Back to his hyperactive self :o)
-I have a new Olympus digital camera which can got underwater, down to 10m ...which means i can take it SCUBA diving (as long as i don't go deeper than that)
-Uni has gone back, which keeps me busy, distracted and keeps my brain nicely stimulated and interested.
-Today i started a new nanny job (i still have my permanant Mon & Tues charges, but this one is a more casual position with a lovely 9mnth old baby boy and 4yo girl (although she is mostly at preschool while i'm there)
-This afternoon i went to visit my Starlight wish child & family. He was so excited to see me and full of cuddles and smiles. He's pretty set on a Goldcoast trip so i've got a lot of planning ahead of me!
-Mitchell is coming to Sydney April 6-27th!! ...he'll be staying at HMAS Penguin at Mosman (about a 60-80min drive from where i am) but it's a nice drive, across the Sydney Harbour bridge and right into upper class Sydney, so much better than a 6hr flight across Australia!

...and to top my night off, i'm eating Nina's handmande chocolates ...yum!

Oyasumi nasai

I send this smile over to you

Yesterday was my 6yr anniversary with Mitchell. I thought i wouldn't be seeing him but got a surprise visit for the weekend :o)

We don't usually do much for anniversaries, but this year is a bit different (being apart and all). It was great to be able to spend some time with him and also find out that he will be back in Sydney for the most of April for an underwater demolition course that he's wanted to do for ages. So even though i'm sad to be without him again, it's only for a few weeks, which makes things feel a lot better.

I hope you're all having a great weekend too!

So far...

It's the weekend's that are hardest without him.

I never thought i would have felt so lost without having another person here with me but it makes all the difference. Especially when i'm not doing anything (just bumming around the house etc)

Things should get busier when uni goes back. I won't have all this spare time to start feeling all lonely.

Also we're trying to organise our first free flight through the Army (not sure of the process yet or how long it will take them to process it) ...on the plus side: The Army always fly Qantas, so no more cheap Virgin Blue flights with a Brisbane stop over and take 3hrs longer! :o)
I'm now back in Sydney and trying to get myself organised for work, uni, etc.

I started back at work on Monday, same family but this year i'm mostly just with the two 2yo boy's (the other 2 kids are now both at preschool so i will only have them during school holidays), which is a little bit sad, a little releiving and very different. (I've gone from doing activities for a 3yo to doing activities just for 2yo's ...which are very different developmental stages!) anyway, i'm having lots of fun going right back to basics with craft etc :o)

Uni starts back in a few weeks and is going to be very hectic. I'm trying to squeeze in some extra subjects this semester, in hopes that i can finish my degree this year (and move to Darwin in Nov) ...but it should all go well as i'm going to have so much extra time and energy being by myself now.

The Rufus kitty is good, still crazy (in such an adorable way) He's 5mnths old now so i'm looking at getting him desexed soon. Poor little guy, i feel bad getting his balls chopped off but i don't want him spraying all over the house and running away in search of a girlfriend.

Mitchell and i are hoping to go to Vietnam some time this year (probably mid year, for our Birthdays) Thanks to Tiger Airways, flights from Darwin to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia etc are really cheap (for most of the flights the taxes cost more than the ticket!) ...We thought about Thailand (as so many people go on about how beautiful it is) but i'm really not into the whole exploitation of animals, environment, people etc which is what Thailand seems to be all about (to me that is, and no i haven't been there before so yes, my opinion is uninformed and biased) but Vietnam looks good for a not-yet-destroyed-by-tourists getaway with some nice looking dive sites (including some sites where whale sharks frequent)
